Padua’s wear layer is constructed from 3-millimeter solid European Oak hardwood and its core is comprised of two to nine-layer plywood. European Oak flooring is one of the most sought after hardwood choices in the US. All of these layers combined to result in a 5/8″(15mm) total plank thickness and each plank measuring to 7-1/2” in width.

Each box of Padua contains 22.72 square feet of engineered hardwood. Wire bristles are used to remove the softer grain within the wood, which accentuates the harder grain and creates a beautifully textured surface with added character. Our flooring is constructed from layers of plywood, topped by a solid European Oak veneer.

  1. Question

    Sean Firestine

What are the smallest pieces that come in a box?

      Hello Sean,

You will be getting a piece as small as 12″ in length by the width of the floor which in Padua’s case is 7.5″.

The majority of the planks in the box will be 6 foot long planks however there could be up to 2 planks inside a box that are cut at 5′ and a small 12″ piece to make the overall 6ft long plank.

Can you tell me what the lacquer finish is? Specifically, does it contain aluminum oxide?

      Hello Jenn,

Our finish does not include Aluminum Oxide, our floors are sealed with a water-based lacquer that does not sink into the surface of the floor but provides a hard coat of protection.
Lacquer is almost as durable as urethane but lacquer is water-based and easier to maintain.

      Hello Kyle,

Yes, we offer Quarter Rounds, T-Molds, Stair Nose, Stair Treads & Risers made to match the floor Padua however they require roughly 7-10 business days to be made to match your floor before they are ready to be shipped out, We make them at 8 linear foot pieces, you can view all of our trims under our accessories tab in our main menu.

Are these planks squared or do they have a micro bevel edge? How many times can they be refinished over their lifetime?

    • fernando

      Hello Erin,

These planks have a micro bevel edge, they have a 3mm veneer so it technically can be refinished however it is very thin layer (3mm), we would suggest not refinishing as its usually a high risk of the installer going past the veneer and perhaps damaging the plank.
We would suggest options with a 4mm veneer if you would like to refinish, such as Laguna, Sunset, Moon Shadow etc.

      Thank You

  3. Question

    Andrew

Can this flooring be installed directly onto a plywood subflooring or does it require an underlayment?

  4. Question

    Heidi

Hello. Can this product be custom ordered in a herringbone pattern?

    • fernando

      Hello Heidi,

      Yes, it can be.

For example, it is 7.5 wide which means you can get two pieces at 3.75″ and in length, Padua is 6 feet so you can get 3 pieces of 24″ in length. You would just have to take the amount you need to purchase into account with your flooring contractor.

Consider buying 10% More for Waste

Due to cuts, breaks and other waste when installing your tile, you should multiply the square footage of your area by 10% and purchase enough tile to cover this amount.
